Statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

The Israeli occupation continues its incessant escalation in the Middle East, opening multiple fronts of aggression in an attempt to impose its hegemony on the states and peoples of the region, with complete impunity.
In this development with unpredictable consequences, the Israeli occupation has reached an extremely dangerous stage with its aggression against Syria, a brotherly country, by targeting government institutions and civilian infrastructure in Damascus and Al-Suwayda today.
Algeria “strongly” condemns this despicable aggression, which represents a blatant violation of Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and an assault on its people’s unity, while expressing also its full solidarity with this brotherly country and its legitimate legal right to preserve its security and stability, in accordance with UN Charter principles and international law.
Algeria reiterated its urgent call to the United Nations Security Council to assume the responsibilities incumbent upon it, to put an end to these repeated Israeli aggressions that have plunged the entire region into a spiral of insecurity and instability, without the slightest prospect of calming the situation or imposing the supremacy of international law.
