Statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

At a moment of international consensus on the need to find ways to limit tensions in the region, the Israeli aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran last night took on extremely serious dimensions, further worsening the situation with the American attacks on iranian nuclear facilities.

This international consensus has always affirmed the need for a ceasefire, a return to the negotiating table, and a sincere and good-faith commitment to finding a peaceful solution to the Iranian nuclear issue.

Algeria expresses its deep concern and regret over this escalation, which aggravates the situation in the region and exposes it to unprecedented risks with unpredictable consequences.

The sensitivity and gravity of the situation compel everyone to refer to the lessons from the region's history, which unequivocally demonstrate that military means have never been able to resolve the problems it has faced. For this reason, the absolute priority right now is to return to the most peaceful, effective, and least costly path, which is none other than the peaceful political path, based on the principles and norms of international legality and the United Nations Charter, which can spare the region further tensions and tragedies.
